NJ Conservation Foundation
Beginning in his 20s, Ken Klipstein has actively served on government and non-profit environmental board in various roles. Ken is the current President of the Board of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation having served in that position since April 2015.
In 1993, he co-founded the Tewksbury Land Trust and served as President of the Board for 15 years. Other current leadership roles include Board Chair of the E.C Klipstein Foundation; Board Director of Pinchot Institute for Conservation; and, President of the Board of the Blooming Grove Hunting & Fishing Club, which owns and manages 20,000 acres in NE Pennsylvania.
Ken has served on many municipal boards in his home town of Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County - including the Planning Board, Board of Health, Parks & Recreation Committee and Environmental Commission. He is a past State appointed commissioner to both the Lake Hopatcong Commission and the bi-state Greenwood Lake Commission and served on the board of the Highlands Development Credit Bank Board..
Ken’s day job is Director of Watershed Protection Programs for the New Jersey Water Supply Authority. He is a regular contributor to local, state and federal public advisory committees and panels regarding water quality and quantity in the region and has taught on the subject at Rutgers University. Prior to joining the Authority, Ken worked for 20 years at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
