Municipalities throughout the state are confronted with many challenges in trying to eliminate combined sewer overflows (CSOs) or comply with NJDEP permitting requirements for municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s).  Particularly in urban areas, implementing stormwater controls often involves locating infrastructure on existing parkland or creating new parkland to house such controls.  Participants in this workshop will learn about the NJDEP's current regulatory initiatives in CSO and MS4 communities, the extent to which stormwater controls and green infrastructure projects may be located on Green Acres encumbered parkland and funding opportunities for creation of new parks as part of a municipal stormwater control strategy.  The panel discussion will include a case study involving a new urban municipal park funded by the NJDEP's Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program in a CSO municipality.

 Approved for APA CM 1.25.
