Conservation easements are an effective preservation tool and can be useful to protect environmentally sensitive areas and features. This workshop will cover the benefits and importance of properly recording and making an inventory of municipal conservation easements (CE's) that result from development applications so that the land and natural resources are actually preserved as intended. Suggestions will be offered on how a municipality can complete their own inventory. Speakers include Jennifer Coffey, Executive Director, Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions; Dorothea (Dot) Stillinger, Environmental Commission Member, Chatham Township; and Amy Hansen, Policy Analyst, New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
